To be honest, I just don't like inconveniencing another human being by having them scour the city with me just to see if any given property might be a good fit.

Hey BP,I have scoured the internet and have not found much in the discussion of books recommended for the real estate agent profession.I see "Millionaire Real Estate Agent" by Gary Keller thrown out a lot -- which is good for strategizing one's business -- but I'm looking for books that layout Real Estate Agent 101-level information.

First as newbie, I have to say I am still blown away and so very grateful for biggerpockets and the endless insight and valuable information I have learned in my few months of scouring the forums/content.  

I thought I'd offer my two cents as my wife and I have been plugged into the San Jose market for the last 6 months as we have been heavily scouring the area for a primary residence.  

If not, scour your local paper for builder incentives as well as future land use plans.

Although I'm in tune with my local market I never quite felt the urge to actually start investing in properties until very recently.I had been scouring various resources for about a week and a half with a handful of leads when out of nowhere something went up on MLS that blew my mind!

So, this is what led me to my initial question...I've been scouring the local real estate market(stanislaus county) , looking for either a multi family unit in an area safe enough for my family to live in a portion of and that the #s make sense on, or a well/priced SFR that needs a reasonable bit of work that we would live in for 2 years and either sell or rent when that time came.

Inventory is tight and made worse by new investors that will pay more and numerous firms in DFW that scour MLS.

Now we are scouring the market to find our next venture.

Wife and I just starting out on our REI journey and we've been scouring the SA market and looking for insights.
