The Metro Council has deferred the third and final vote on BL2017-608 until July - hopefully all the lobbying efforts currently in progress will result in some sort of a reasonable compromise.

The hotel lobby is furiously pushing forward with this providing a lot of weight behind the banning of STRs.

My wife works in theater, it's the same sort of thing for her peeps.

Imagine who lobbied for those?  

If it's about impossible, then I'd make it a big enough increase to make it worth it to you, but cheaper for them having to deal with a 12 month lease.Then, offer it at a premium for a summer rental.Oh, and hopefully they aren't theater majors LOL.  

This is much different from our first unit in Charlotte NC, as it's an endcap space in a lifestyle shopping center (think high end retail, movie theater, dining, etc).  

One guy wanted to have a garage door on the shared carport on his unit, and lobbied to get approval to do this on every unit. 

Also you should be getting real involved with the lobbying efforts of any landlord associations you can join up with in the state.

Rather, out of a feeling of responsibility to my former tenants, who I happily provided positive references for.The reality is that it does a landlord no good, and could do harm, to respond to a reference request.I have also gotten calls from landlords lobbying for a statutory and regulatory change.  

So, 30 garage doors had to be paid for because one guy successfully lobbied to get a garage door for himself.
