We are looking at a single family at present, bank owned, looks like a good deal, however.... how do we handle disclosure( there was a murder in the house 5 yrs ago) It’s a great neighborhood, we have a contractor etcWe have not approached a lender yet.Any advice?

In most states you only have to disclose a violent death like a murder or suicide or death resulting from a defect in the property.

I had a rate hike mysteriously occur during a closing and my mortgage broker was on vacation, conveniently out of cell phone reach.

My state doesn't require disclosure of murder, suicide, or death and I wouldn't disclose it unless there were a specific reason.

It was not a gruesome murder, however it still did happen.

That's another thing is to ask everyone, where is the niche that caters to those bad people like who have been in jail or murderers or drug dealers? 

Those reason could be things like murder on the property, mold, threats of foreclosure, no money to pay the creditors.

Mystery plumbing problems that take a while to solve.

If there's a mystery $10k appearing, and the only thing otherwise missing is the reno budget, process of elimination kind of points to that...
