You can buy a new one brand name for around 300-700 dollars, depending on brand, and get it installed for $200, or do it yourself with some basic skills and youtube video.

.- Document everything (receipts for taxes, all the work that you did yourself via photos and video, and your expenses in an excel sheet to make sure you're on track.

And my wife does a lot of YouTube videos and has used a tool that picks her cover photo.

Of course, we recommend that videos be used to document all this so you can review remotely.

I took extensive video and pictures when i moved as the house was not, to most people in move in condition, obviously cleaned but very cheap and very old carpet, large areas of rooms that weren't entirely painted weird hardware sticking out of walls, screw holes or remaining screws and nails, several patched but not painted areas, tons of areas with drawing, water, oil marks on the walls (from a centimeter to 1 foot) etc etc! 

A couple of things - I hope you have clearly documented with text, video and photos the pre-move in condition of the property and the walkthrough reflecting damages post move out.
