A young working professional will most likely want to be near transportation and nightlife.

I've moved Many homes over the last decade.In the Seattle area I now pay $2500 tear down, $2500 set up, $1500 each half for transport 100 miles or less, tongues will run about $1,000, so will axle/wheels.I've found to do it right - nice - new skirting and porches/steps - $4,000.

@Michele Fischer  I too think that transportation in Washington needs a huge boost and in fact Inslee's plan has $12B dedicated toward projects across the state.

Factors were a combination of changes in technology, increased automation, consolidation of the auto industry, taxation policies, the need for different kinds of manufacturing space, and the construction of the highway system that eased transportation for commuters.

The thing the rich want to purchase may be a utility bill, a regular vacation, or transportation (car, Netjets, or whatever), but rather than paying for the thing from current income they first invest in an asset or business and then use that to pay for consumption. 

@Brandon Turner  We'd be glad to loan you our commercial carpet blower if someone can get it transported to you; we're 2.5 hours away in the Couv (near Portland, OR).

Much of it will hinge on transportation and safety in my opinion.
