I will tell you, permitting and utilities are huge factors to be weighed, along with City requirements, set backs, curb, gutter, sidewalk, landscaping, etc. in order to be able to do any type of airbnb offering.

Walk the blocks and you'll see a sidewalk ends, streets are dark at night, some properties are full of debris and litter, abandoned cars are evident, etc.

I realize pay is somewhat regional and a pay cut might come with moving.Ideally live in a center-of-town area...sidewalks, trees, community, the more walkable/bikeable the better, trying to stay away from the cookie-cutter homes and suburban sprawl.Bonus points for universities nearby, airports and highways within reasonable driving distance.

While living in the South End I had to contact police numerous times due to constant drug deals in the neighborhood, people passed out on the sidewalk during the day, gun shots, etc.

Then they depose him or hit him with an interrogatory and bang he must say who collects the money, where it goes, who made the decision not to replace the sidewalk that the bad crack in it and boom the Trustee is now added in his personal capacity.Now if you had a property manager you could pay him 10% and say you had no control, but EVERY property manager agreement I have ever read says the owner will hold them harmless.
