It's this sort of dumb thinking that gets politicians making more and more laws that make it difficult for the rest of us.There was a discussion on BP a few days ago about unenforcable clauses in contracts, and what you've just shown is one of them, and you are also demonstrating contract of adhesion incredibly well.

However most politicians don't advocate rent control because they think it's good policy, they campaign on rent control knowing that there are enough stupid and self-interested voters that it is an effective election tool in deep blue areas.As far as using month-to-monthleases  to avoid S8, well that is just a pleasant side effect.

I can't help but agree....there is never an issue that the real free market would not take care of, but politicians create regulating policies that create wealth for some at the expense of the majority.
