I'd suggest that you start reading, listening to BP blogs and Podcasts.

I am a long time lurker of the BP forums, and huge fan of the podcasts and blogs.

I believe @Brandon Turner illustrated this technique in one of his books, and others on the site have elaborated on it in blogs.
