To win as a first-time or seasoned house hacker who is ok with less space, you want to look for funky layouts.For example, a three bed and a one bed is a huge score because you can live in the small unit and make more money without room hacking or wasting space in your unit.

As a first-time house hacker you want to maximize your revenue and minimize your living space to make the most.Also, there are 2+1 units which are 2 legal units and a 3rd boarder unit (either in the basement or the attic).

I think that the assumable mortgage is the ultimate trump card for the house-hacker in today's market, and it is where I'd be looking if I was getting started in real estate today.
