There will be a few cities like Disney's Anaheim and a few other places where the hotel lobby is super powerful and you won't be able to run a STR property. 

Amazon is reportedly in advanced talks to open their second HQ in Crystal City,VA in the DC area.Not surprising I guess , especially with Bezos owning Washington Post and would be beneficially for them do be near D.C as far as lobbying etc . 

Seems like there is a strong lobby and substancial economic power behinde this. 

We've got Walmarts, movie theaters, a bowling alley, a lake, tons of restaurants, etc. 

So if you’re not putting chocolate on the pillow and you don’t have a pond with ducks swimming in the lobby your property is not 5 Stars.

We just had an interesting opportunity arise-- we have a seasonal theater festival in town every summer, and the company is seeking housing for one it's directors. 

The guy I spoke to was one of several "greeters" in the lobby.

I was in Denver, two weeks ago, for a theater conference and must say I really liked it there.
