I'd like to have a cathedral ceiling (drywall right under the roof rafter) and a big ceiling fan.

So much fan love sounds and feels extremely odd.

Now I do not know if the investors who were offered payment plans were part of the REIT but if I was in their shoes,  I would take the installment payout solely out of concerns related to the valuations. 

I've sold while in your shoes before, and I've also held with large negative CF.

Now I'm a fan of locals owning and running the biz and helping locals be the developers in their communities.

Hey @Camille Romero - fellow NY'r here that started investing a few years ago, I was in your same shoes when I first started after working in tech/software and having a nice nest egg built up. 

Not like anyone has to fill Bruce Wayne sized shoes but does real estate investing have to be this despicable?

I'm also a big fan of backup/contingency plans.
