Solo 401k plans are no different then full-time employer plans in that they are both sponsored by a business; however, the IRS created solo 401k plans to even the playing between big company employer plans  by relaxing the rules for self-employed businesses to be able to qualify for solo 401k plans (see IRS Pub. 560 which list the requirements to qualify for a self-employed 401k).

My goal is to not be a "shark" in this industry but i just want to have everything running by a certain age then relax.

Having said that, you should relax and search for more investment opportunities, and keep an eye on the one you tried to buy. 

The main focus of the cause was targeted at the financial industry for its relaxed lending requirements, banking regulations, and “predatory” lending practices.

If it is 8%, then you should buy an index fund and relax.

To me video games are a total waste of time but don't discount the need to disconnect sometimes and just relax.
