When I go around the perimeter now I am only coming up with one more spot that seems to be with an odor.

(I actually bought a commercial grade ozone generator to deal with mold - and all sorts of odors!) 

And each time the hosts would go to a new STR, they would grumble about the bedroom setup and even have dramatic fights over who would get the best bedroom.

As far as sticky issues.... all I can think of for now are  mold, mildew, and unusual odors that might be present.

I prefer getting there 20 minutes early to set the thermostat to a comfortable temp, turn all the lights on, pick up any trash in the yard, sweep the front step, kill the spider on the counter, fix the running toilet, take care of any strange odors, ask the neighbor to stop smoking weed/shut their dogs/kids up/ stop screaming at each other, etc. 

Everything else has to be refreshed : Floors (carpeted, heavily spoiled and cat urine odor) Ceilings dry-wallWalls dry-wallElectrical is out of date (knot and tube all over, electrical panel needs replacement) Risks: Sanitization (cat urine smell, potential for pest problems)Structural integrity not checked (unable to check in a timely fashion due to deadline)Evidence of water damage on main floor ceiling, extent of damages unknownNo smell of mold in basement but knowing the city history of flooding, this is uncertainPlumbing looks recent but it was hard to be absolutely sure of this assertionThe reason I decided against in the end : too many unknowns.

@James WiseI don’t know, there are times if the home stays nasty for so long that the odors will start getting into the walls.

Do you think 2.5 miles is too close in terms of odors?
