Lighter hardwood stains will hide imperfections better, darker colors will be "richer" looking but may limit appeal to some folks and bring out more of the deficiences in the floor.

Otherwise a nice coat of paint covers a lot of imperfections. 

Waterproof and doesn’t telegraph subfloor imperfections like thinner vinyl.

Most block walls have imperfections and chunks of mortar that will make it difficult or impossible to attach directly to the wall.

I always have a heavy hand on the staining to make dark floors that cover up any imperfections and gloss up the wood surface to protect it....just have them put down another thick coat of stain (or two).

But research shows the correlation between cap and interest rates is imperfect, so lets assume over my projected five year hold interest rates go up but cap rates stay at these historic lows.  

The only perfection is how perfectly imperfect every ideology is.

Ironically, the very people who oppose this notion are the ones also oppose any government support for those "Imperfect humans"

I wonder if a coating like that would still show the wide variety of imperfections below.

This is a bit like selecting our politicians based on SAT scores - very imperfect, but at least you get the smart ones in office instead of the weird politicians that most democracies seem to have.But I do think they will face several shocks over the next few decades as they transition from a controlled economy to a free market.
