One of the pluses to Wordpress is it's free and highly versatile.Stay away from plug ins and free templates that steal your SEO juice.Another down fall is word press is highly targeted by hacks.You have to keep very up to date with word press updates or your website can become compromised by mal-ware,hacking etc.This is why so far I haven't used wordpress and have stuck with Joomla.Word press is promising but can be unstable at times.I might switch eventually.

I managed to download the file, but it's an .exe and unless I personally know someone who's download this file, I'm afraid I'm too risk averse of malware to open the file.

Google) have a reason to make sure their ads are good enough that you keep using the site and they don't send you scams and malware so to some extent you can trust them more than say Myspace or some of the old search sites that were littered with shady ads but at the same time their job is to sell you ads so that is what they do.
