Insurance proceeds are typically provided in a check that must be endorsed by both the policy holder and the mortgage holder. 

I guess Loyd's of London is off shore :)  but Caribbean carriers not so sure.My carrier on our master inventory policy just shut off ALL of CA..

We are working on getting a new insurance policy for one of our properties. small 3 unit property on the Oregon Coast.

I'm quoting some landlord policies at the moment.

Tell them you need to be listed as additional insured and then you get copied if they have it from insurance company

I think Landlords are better off using strong policies, knowing the law, acting quickly and professionally.

In the 2024 insurance market, CA is hard to place, so even though you could force them onto a single policy, it may be more economical to keep them separate.I'll send you a note with the carriers who can do this for you.

My property manager is on my landlord insurance policy as Additional Insured, and my tenants add me as Additional Interest.

I would ask the insurance company for more documentation on the reasoning.
