Hi All,My name is Michelle, I am a local long term SFH real estate investor in South Florida and am wanting to add on Section 8 investing in Detroit, Michigan.I currently am not knowledgeable on Section 8, but am educating myself.I am looking to connect with other Section 8 investors to see how they got started along with what resources they used to look at market trends, how to pick the specific hot bed to invest in Section 8, and advice I may need to know.Thank you in advance.

I am looking to join a mentorship program to help lower my learning curve and until I find it, I am educating myself with books, as well as YouTube University and great advice from the BiggerPockets community.I do work full-time in a career that I love and is very rewarding, but I also know I won't attain my goals with my current job.

How should I use my family ties and education to make the most out of investing in land?

All good reading and listening, education is best and if you want to learn you have to ingest as much information as possible.I read many books that helped me, but my go-to is listeining to at least 2hrs of podcast with real examples per day.One very important things that "want-to-be" fails is to understand that real estate has many different specialities, so you have to focus your time in your real project.

My recommendation is to see if you can work for a company in real estate or wholesaling that way you get training and education while getting paid

.), and you’ll have to do some continuing education for licensing compliance, then you might have some technology costs and some other costs I’m forgetting, of course vehicle maintenance and insurance and those types of things.
