It's good to know I'm not 'alone' in having this kind of experience -- I figured that working in smaller towns can require some diplomacy/tact/delicacy, but also good to know that I have other options when it comes to closing.

Likewise, by putting so much content and sometimes contradicting what others write, I'm exposing myself to personal attacks and I have to accept it even if they shouldn't happen.Maybe your reaction was a gift to me because maybe other readers thought I wasn't diplomatic enough so this might have been a good opportunity to clarify my thinking for everyone's benefit and to improve my writing/diplomacy skills.

Then you don't have to blindly salute and follow advice, but can learn to build your own ever growing army that you put to work and give marching orders to win the battle and the war, in the battleground of your choosing, where you are strong and have many allies and your opponents are weak such that you can either sniper them off if need be or better yet use diplomacy to turn them into allies.
