My question is, would it be valuable for an experienced flipper/rehabber to partner with someone who holds a RE and a Gen Contractor license but has limited funds?

Knowing what to say and what not to say also come into play and most sellers will screw that up to, though I admit so will many agents, therefore it is very important to find a good and highly experienced one.You mentioned not wanting to pay $900 more to list with an agen.

Is there any way to look inside a lot of different properties without being an agent yourself? 

A New investor can see themselves in a jam real quick Jason Lee.. of course you only deal with people who want to buy in NYC you are a real estate agen in NYC. 

If you are working with ant agen already and that person isn't much help...find a new one.

Ten have our agen call that closer and tell them you are ready to close (assuming you are).

Granted I think technically the OP is a gen Z.

Use an agen.....they are all on Hudhomestore.....no great bargains.
