As a whole, when people are fearful and not as confident, they are less like to buy a new vehicle, book a vacation (obviously that's the case now), go out to restaurants, buy new consumer goods, and discretionary spending falls.

You could post a sign to remind them not to leave valuables in the vehicle, but my guess is that could somehow backfire if there is another break in and you are considered to be liable somehow.

Hopefully the word "Recourse" isn't prevalent in your loan documents.Things like own your vehicle 100%, make sure your living situation is still available (even if it means having to move into an apartment), cellular service will still be on, etc...And like has been stated above keep an open channel with YOUR lenders, (IF) there is a problem you may be able to work something out--this is a National Problem.Good Luck!

I had a great one 12 years ago & he's back & desperate for work so we'll see how long that lasts.I've met a lot of burned out mid 50's guys over the years with a beat up vehicle & a few tools who will work for $12-$20/hour depending on the type of work assigned.
