This was not a replacement of the paving material but at best a cosmetic rehabilitation with no structural value.However, driveway and parking lots expense incurred were capital expenditures for:1) access roads for logging operations;2) relocating a public road;3) hard-surfacing roads in the vicinity of taxpayer's property;4) replacing gravel driveway with a cement driveway.5) preparing a rental residential property for occupancy.

I have also heard of people simply using a jack until the house lifted up then pouring cement right over the jack and calling it a day.

In inspection report, there was one sentence claims:Plywood (T1-11) Stone Veneer, Fiber Cement Shingles The siding materials on the South. side of the house may contain asbestos.Determining the presence of asbestos can ONLY be preformed by laboratory testing and is beyond the scope of this inspection.

I had a couple of basement guys come in and offer to put in french drains, one guy was $2000 for a small section, another guy was $6750 to do 75% of the basement.I thought it best for me to try the hydraulic cement route first.

Rather than paying $6k for a new driveway, oftentimes you can just get a cement cone grinder wheel on a 4" grinder and grind down the lip and problem solved for cheap.Just some thoughts on the most common things.
