A friend and I talked about buying a big boat on Lake Texoma one year....and thankfully he was the smarter of the two of us. 

It's just outside Mountain Lakes, NJ.

The Lakes in Florida, since it is central Florida, is probably growing more modestly.  

Are there, perhaps, better located new or existing subdivisions that would be able to offer nearby parks, shopping, restaurants, access to a lake, etc.?

I use State Farm in Minnetonka for my townhome on lake Minnetonka.

Price/mortgage/expenses/likely rent/etc....I am sure you will get gobs of help :) Asking price is $219,000 Est taxes are $1300/yr mortgage with insurance roughly $1300/mo Rent for 2 bed 1 bath (what the attached cottage is)  in the area is avg $950/mo on the low endIt has deeded shared beach access to 2 lakes.

River/Bay/Ocean/Creek or Lake view home which is worth more in property value
