We rented three rooms and lived for free, and kept the garage for ourselves (we had a lot of hobbies so having this storage space was a big deal back then).  

The question he had is that he is taking a world trip for some months and wanted to know if he should  buy a cheap condo in a city of Florida that he never been to, so he would not have to pay storage on his furnishingsI am not a rich person but I cant believe anyone who is would even entertain that thought.Basic common sense and the need to create wealth not destroy it I would think is an important trait

If you seek commercial property, (including 5+ unit apts), storage units or something 'outside the box', local regionals are the way to go!  

So I'm interested in getting a self storage unit just wanted to know if anyone had experience in owning one.

I think the reason is that your refi bank prefers not giving you a big, fat check, which makes them very nervous.

Caddy corner to the property there is a storage lot that is full.

I would mostly use it for emails, browsing internet etc and I am not really concerned with storage because i have a hard drive and PC at home and I also use dropbox.  

I was thinking a 10'x20' storage unit which i could rent to the tenants for ~$100 - $120/month.  

What type of property was involved (apt, commercial, storage units)?

So I'm selling a two family with an additional store front (empty right now, used it for storage) so three units in total.
