But, some replies were being very condescending about his lack of empathy....yada, yada, yada...so, I defended the OP since I can relate with him and his perspective.Anyway, it was none of the stuff in the rules, and my reply had 8 votes before the the thread was removed, so, I wanted to go back an revisit my post to remind me of what exactly I had said, and see what else had been added to the thread, and then I got that boiler plate notice, that I took personally.

Houses are one of the biggest most personal items anyone owns, I would be certain what you plan to do there are no issues with it, and no matter what anyone here tells you, only an attorney (who would be there to defend you should the issue arise) will have any skin in the game giving you the truth.

If you document properly with pictures and/or video, it should be clear to a casual observer whether the damage is caused by "ordinary wear-and-tear" or by abuse/neglect.In every case, I personally consider whether I'm able to defend my charges in court.
