We have bought vintage houses and either do the repairs necessary to make the windows function well or we replace the windows.

I'd rather have the no muss/no fuss higher profit in Honolulu or CA vs fighting for a possible highly taxed and quickly cap exed  cash faux.

The other day I did an inspection of a vintage 10 unit condominium in Riverside Illinois and the condominium president was complaining that about the banging of the steam pipes and the need for her to keep her windows open due to excessive heat generation by the cast-iron radiators.

And as such, gets to expect to have the home to live in, without being invaded.And, imagine what it would be like to have a horde of complete strangers (and in SF right now, any open house will be a mass infusion of strangers) walking through your home, perhaps looking in your closets, your jewelry box, you medicine cabinets, checking out your stereo, your televisions, your computers....As an owner, do you really want that liability?
