Visitors often are one of the highest contributors to local economy with very low draws from the economy I.e. visitors earn, draw and make from their local economy and grow, spend or support the visiting economy.As for morality I think we can all agree that STR are not immoral in a resort ski town because they add to a market which doesn’t have much need for LTR because of lack of jobs but high demand for STR because of the geographical accommodations which provides economic stability, allowing for individuals to reside there outside of retirement or remote working.

And, most visitors to Cancun go to all-inclusive resorts, not short-term rentals who can't compete for obvious reasons.

They appear to be directed more at your situation as an investor who is starting out and whether a limited liability entity is suitable for your situation. 

This is not something that I have experienced personally but something that many investors deal with as they scale their portfolio/find markets that are more suitable for a rental property then somewhere in their own state.

My initial thoughts/questions:I would consider Airbnb, we are by no means a tourist area but we do have our visitors and our location and distance to both Milwaukee and Chicago lends itself to potential business travel. 

I believe there are situations where an owner should be giving their approval on the tenant selection process, but this should be limited to extreme situations like the one listed above, where a suitable candidate can't be found that matches the agreed upon screening criteria.

Mia,Lake Marion and Santee get around 100k visitors a year and aside form the Lake, you have a lot of Golf enthusiasts coming to stay for the short and long term. 

@Tom HarkinsThanks for your reply, we have a young child and frequent family visitors so a SFH may make sense as well, but figured a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo or smaller townhouse would be a more rentable property, what was your experience with your SFH and if you don't mind me asking what was the price point for a SFH vs Condo/Townhome in MoCo.
