I'll ask blindly. Is it normal for a property manager to move a tenant in without letting you view the tennant to approve/disapprove?

Aloha,

100% !

As a PM, we know and follow the myriad of laws and rules that apply to LL/Tenant issues. In particular, Fair Housing Laws, and the Fair Credit Act. Property Owners often have their own prejudices and "gut" feelings about people that would lead to violations of these laws.

The key for you as an Owner, is to understand the processes that the PM is using beforehand, and expressing any requirements you may feel are important. This extends to other aspects of their management as well, if you have areas of specific concern.

Whenever we get an inquiry from a potential new Client, one of the documents they are provided is our "10 Step Tenant Approval Process".
