@Justin,  No you don't need to provide notice however make sure to notify if you will be disturbing common areas, shutting off water to washing machines, having alot of workmen on site.

There are a lot of factors to consider here, but if you can keep your current residence as a rental, I would do that, possibly even a STR or MTR.
