My current co-workers are extremely talented people and I would love to invest in their future movies and continue to be in a creative part of the business. 3) I want to buy a plot of land in Joshua Tree, CA (which is an international mecca for rock climbing) and with a friend who is an architect , create an amazing vacation rental property for visitors that come in for music festivals, family vacations, climbing trips, and the sort.

My wife and I found the house by searching the MLS religiously, we just wanted to buy our first house... there was no element of it being an "investment" beyond just gaining equity by owning vs renting.

You do FB, Instagram, Twitter and all those for FUN, if that's how you want to spend your time ;-)If you want to generate REAL leads online, I suggest two opportunities:1) Google PPC (AdWords) - it's the best deal - people are SEARCHING FOR US THERE2) Craigslist - I think it's kind of a wasteland with a gazillion posts by wannabe investors, but I post and repost religiously and get a lot of calls & form submissions from it.

There seems like there is frequently old schools for sale in my neck of the woods....people buy them and try to turn them into apartments or industrial complexes......I have a colleague that buys them up like crazy for some reason.....they don't get very much for them......he bought one just so he'd have a place for him and his buddies to play pick up basketball games......rents the rest out for storage or whatever..... he also rents to religious groups / cults,  that want to teach their beliefs to their kids.......he seems like he's doing fine with them?????
