I can see the logic for the S corp election to minimize the impact of SE tax...if #2 were correct (as it would for house flipping).My CPA has done an admirable job thus far (I used him last year for my personal tax and this year since this is the first year I've owned a real estate investment), but I fear his experience in the subtleties of real estate taxes may be minimal; something that I will have to address.Oh and Charles, I just saw your video interview with Joshua on this website.

You've started in the right direction =)The quickest way to jump start your REI is by wholesaling/bird dogging.Investors are always looking for new deals and you can generate quite a bit of money doing it.I admire your ambition!

Funny Story - I have a really close friend that did the very thing you are doing (rock climbing, living out of a camper van) in college - I always admired the fact that he was one of the very few in our group of friends that gave "everything" up to actually do what he loved and enjoyed!!
