In the UK, I could not research the deed, nor record the deed myself, and had to use a solicitor (a good plan, anyway)So my answer to you: Investigate HOW you are going to buy.  

The reason I want to succeed is to show people like me (first generation immigrant, sandwich generation who takes care of parents and own family, middle class w2 American struggling to thrive) that the dream of financial freedom is not out of reach.

Our next prospects are an immigrant family. 

Southern Ontario will remain a strong housing market even with the stress tests and the lack of affordability.We have immigration and migration plus millennials coming into the housing market hot and ready.

Here’s our situation:House and Land Package priced at $384,800 in Minto, NSW.Feb 2, 2013 – Exchanged contract with the land only as my solicitor said she will only do the land part of the deal and the building contract/discussions will be between me and the builder only.April 19,2013 – Land was released from Land Titles office.April 24,2013 – Settlement of the Land.April 29, 2013 – I have called the builder to inquire if everything is ready to go with the lodgement of the building plans.

Forget about the renovation cost, but here in Houston with huge number of immigrates, labors are like half to 1/3 price.

Follow the trends folks...where do you think this is going to stop.We have 250,000 people immigrating into Canada every year.

Are the majority of immigrants to Canada higher paid, or are there a lot of lower paid immigrants as well? 

For the locals and recent immigrants, there are some great opportunities to invest if you can study the fundamentals and ignore the emotional issues the region shares collectively.
