As for snaking your own line yes you can do it, but you have to be careful, I just saw pictures yesterday of a guy who tried to save money, got his hand wrapped up in the snake line and lost part of his finger.

If you were unable to schedule the inspection no matter what the reason, your agent should have sent over a request for an extension/modification(Whatever term is used in your state)As for the result of any inspection, your agent should have also informed you that the owner is under no obligation to fix anything or lower the price unless the contract requires them to do soI realize you posts are pointing the finger at the owner and their agent and maybe there is an issue there.
