So while stock volatility might be attribute often sought by some investors.. a lender utilizing stock as collateral, is obviously concerned with its probability to recoup its funds in the event of a default when the collateral in question is changing in value by the minute on a daily basis... and that is assuming this is an actively traded stock with a credible volume absent of which the lender then has a different set of factors to consider.
