Maybe it's $100 to repair a dishwasher but I know I'm going to sell the property next year so I buy a new dishwasher. 

I replaced all of the appliances with brand new stainless steel Samsung stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and mounted microwave.

Hepa vac the visible mold, scrub (wire brush) with dawn soap, hepa vac it again then rinse with clean water.

The dishwasher is Whirlpool's "Gold" line, which is good, it is their higher-level line, but be aware that there is a noticeable difference between their standard stainless steel finish and what they call "monochromatic stainless steel" on the Gold appliances.  

Whereas a dishwasher can be loaded with plates full of food, a stove won't be cleaned regularly.

It didn't dawn on her until 6 months after I told her about house hacking that they were doing exactly that.
