If I know that GPs respect my money and investment *more* than their tax consequences I’d be 100 times more likely to reinvest in a subsequent deal.

I currently work in law enforcement, and my partners have their own respective careers as well, so our goal isn't to instantly generate income. 

You're talking about two different strategies in respect to location.
