Brand new from Indianapolis, IN.
Hello everyone! My name is Daniel Parrella. I've been listening to the podcasts for about 6 months, and I'm finally taking the time to create a profile and truly get plugged into the community.
I'm from the Cleveland, OH area, but have been living in Indianapolis, IN for the past 5 years. I have a partner in Cleveland, OH and one in Columbus, OH as well. We plan to begin our investing in Cleveland, but are open to exploring elsewhere.
About 6 months ago, my father, brother and I were having breakfast and I started kicking around the idea of splitting a vacation home. We could take family vacations whenever we wanted, and Airbnb it for the rest of the year to maybe even make a few bucks! Genius right??? Well as I began to research this idea a little more, I stumbled across the bigger pockets podcast and I instantly realized how much bigger our goals could be than one vacation home.
Since finding the podcast, we have done a lot of research, incorporated, gotten agents and lender on board, and we're finally starting to make some offers on properties in the Cleveland, OH area. A lot of our small, but forward progress has been made possible by utilizing the resources available here. We have very limited experience, so we're eager to get into the forums and start learning from all of you!
I currently work in law enforcement, and my partners have their own respective careers as well, so our goal isn't to instantly generate income. Rather, based on our limited experience, our goal is to generate long term wealth and income replacement with a buy and hold strategy, scaling as fast as we can along the way. We plan to play a lot of this by ear as we don't know where we will end up as we learn. We realize that right now we are the needy, new people, but we appreciate how awesome this community is and want to build into it more as we become more able.

Welcome! There are tons of active investors and real estate professionals to network with. Many of them are willing to share a ton of information for the price of coffee and/or dinner. I certainly would recommend allowing someone to work with you on your first deal or two either as a consultant or partner... Real estate investing sounds easy and straightforward, but it really can be nerve racking if you aren't used to all the things that can go wrong. BP is also an awesome place to network, ask questions, gather resources, and learn a ton in general. There's many, many people here who are working toward similar goals and can share their experiences. If you need anything, feel free to reach out. Best of Luck!
