Or even the nice plastic stuff.

Cheap door hardware, cheap HVAC and water heaters, cheap plastic part faucets and the like. 

Plastic interior could almost be hosed out if necessary.

The advantage to doing this is they are a peel and stick installation (over a plastic underlayment) and can be easily cut to size.  

The bottom plate plastic connector stripped and the plate couldn’t be reattached.  

We got the fine notice, so I immediately purchased large heavy duty plastic cans with attached lids (Baltimore County doesn't want those either but oh well) and we attached them to the fence with a combo lock.  

I bought a $10 plastic bathroom faucet, new, and installed it in the kitchen sink, just so I had a faucet, until I could fix and reinstall the real one. 

You saved on materials, because you did not understand the difference between commercial grade and cheap (plastic shut off valves can cost you $$$!)

A good relationship is like a good marriage,,a bad one is worse.Just a suggestion,,instead of 'repairing' that cast stack you might make a bigger project and replace it all with plastic.
