The advantage to doing this is they are a peel and stick installation (over a plastic underlayment) and can be easily cut to size.

We got the fine notice, so I immediately purchased large heavy duty plastic cans with attached lids (Baltimore County doesn't want those either but oh well) and we attached them to the fence with a combo lock.

A good relationship is like a good marriage,,a bad one is worse.Just a suggestion,,instead of 'repairing' that cast stack you might make a bigger project and replace it all with plastic.
