One rain cleans the panels, they should never have "special soap" on them and you can turn a hose on them yourself in the morning or at night. 

My wife is a pyro, she loves to build big fires and every fall we go to TN or NC Smokey Mountains for our anniversary,  she will only stay at a cabin that has an outdoor fire pit.  

We use Murphy's Oil Soap first to clean floors, let dry then apply Rejuvenate.
