While there may be some markets that are hotter than others at different points in time at the end of the day, if its too far away or a market you don't understand or that you don't like...you'll never stick with it and it will be hard for your to be successful.

Like I said, my city is one of the lowest priced places to live in the country so it gets way worse in hotter markets.

Surely the income from the other three (plus your unspent extra savings) would cover your PMI until your expected additional equity arrives* - to eliminate the PMI?
