Let's face it. your comment "It's difficult for me to get down to that level of specificity because my eyes aren't trained to see" means you will not like the finished product and he will say "that item wasn't on the punch list." and a lawsuit and a year later you will have a resolution.Go to google images and put in "doors" ;-) He could put in used trashed doors and be compliant.

I have a photo at my desk of family area in Durban SA and people ask "oh, where is that" and when I say "Africa" the dazed and confused look speaks volumes, and is often followed with "wow, they have buildings like that there" to which the answer is "yeah, and now even indoor plumbing!"
