Also, my current CPA (who also resides in Chicago) is great and also specializes in real estate.I will add that spending the necessary money on a solid CPA is worth its weight in gold and pulling the trigger before you feel like you can afford it is a good thing!

It was also before he went off the deep end of crypto/gold/etc and was still a RE Educator.  

Of course the gold standard with house hacking is to live for free but there's so many more facets than that!

Have you bought, read, and read again the BRRRR book by David Greene available here on BP https://store.biggerpockets.co...It's the bible for BRRRR so those "rules" and guidance is the gold standard for the BRRRR investing and you should definitely start there.

Hey Everyone, I am moving to Chicago from the northeast with my girlfriend (plan for mid-late Spring time) and am going to be traveling out to view condos in the River North, Gold Coast, Old Town and Lincoln Park areas.

I have been inactive on the BP forums, but realized there are a lot of gold in the forums.

No matter where you buy, you are going to find that good property managers are rare as gold and just as valuable.
