Hired their engineer brother/relative and turned a 40k project (ground up house project) into an agonizing 100k, when they spent about 70-80k they were almost half way done -- called me for an opinion and told them i'll send my workers and pay them at cost. 20k and 2 months later, they were already booking a flight to go home for the traditional house blessing.

I asked them about the cost and they replied with one fly over every so often usually yields enough fines and back pay for the permits that it pays for that flight and they site that they care for the safety which negates the cost in their eyes.
