While it only has 10,000 people, cities and towns appear to only get smaller the closer you get to the park, making Cody a good spot for travelers and tourists, Id imagine, along with being a great target for the tourism industry.

I would look in tourist friendly areas.

Pinellas County FL is 13% Total - 7% State and 6% Local Tourist Development Tax. 

It seems like a touristic place, is it profitable for STR?

The counties of Rockingham, Page, and Shenandoah are within the Shenandoah Valley and bring millions of tourists a year for many varied reasons, including the Shenandoah National Park.

Natural elements...beaches, mountains, national/state parks, etc.... have always had a tourist drive to them for many many years.
