I came up with a camper shell that folded up behind the cab of a pickup and fit in an enclosure when it wasn't needed, that was about 1969.About the same time I made a front seat that fit between the drop down handle bars of my bike to put my little sister in.

Elisha,If your baseboard heaters are not the old cast iron type, then replacing them is not a big deal – you can replace the outer steel enclosure, or the heating element, or the entire unit.
