If not, does it make sense holding just one property in St Louis even if you decide you can work through these current hiccups and hold?

Of course it might go totally smoothly with no hiccups and everyone is totally happy in the end and someone either you or the seller save a small amount of money on commissions. 

The fact that those same high interest rates are also keeping sellers from listing due to having to buy back into the same market (thus lowering supply) is a bit of a hiccup for the Fed and a case of not being able to have your cake and eat it too.  

And I reckon you're feeling that too.You're not alone – even with professional property management, I had my fair share of eviction dances and other major hiccups.
