I was 28 or 29(in '03), living in NYC, and unable to justify the prices in NYC(for rental properties, anyway.)My solution was to invest in Hudson, NY(and Catskill,) then I moved up to the Capital District and Buffalo.

Thanks if you’re really intent on buying a property in the northeast, remember that the 30 million people in the nyc area tend to vacation more in the catskills, hudson valley, berkshires, adirondacks & green mtns (vermont) more than the poconos.

Some of the cities i am thinking about include but are not limited to Red Hook, NY; Rhinebeck, NY; Hyde Park, NY; Poughkeepsie, NY: Copake, NY; Hudson, NY; Germantown, NY; Kingston, NY; Catskill, NY; and anything near that anyone wants to share as a good market  I am intrested in what people think for example about multi family market in some of the more urban areas or about flipping in the more rural ones.
