I stopped using Craigslist and yard signs due to scammers, thieves, squatters, low quality leads, and surprise visitors.

I live in Hawaii full time and will say we've had an insane spike in tourism again - lots of visitors and demand for rental cars, dinner reservations, room rentals, tourist activities, etc.

Let me know if you need any help.Do you think this would be a better option than the Orlando/Kissimmee area for theme park visitors and/or long-term rentals in Tampa as well?

You will have the opportunity to develop your own niche, to attract regular visitors. 

I say this not to boast on our market, but to highlight that there are not many 'events' that would attract visitors.

Lots of visitors to an area, (Florida beaches, Smokey Mountains) and where things are stable and are STR friendly.The Northeast doesn't always have the most friendly climate for STRs or landlords in general.

It is a great area with 4 season visitors.
