Follow that to the tip ,,,hold down the pilot button,,,light the pilot,,,continue to hold down till tc holds flame on  and turn to on.You may need a new valve or just a new tc if it doesnt work right or reliably.That all being said the pics look like that lady has some age on her.

I know it probably fakes out the little old ladies but I can tell you did not personally write it.4. trying to sound folksy not professional..

But after several years of hit & miss frustration they decided to convert it into retirement living for 4-5 active & 'with it' elderly ladies.
