Ok let’s cut to the chase: With me being new to Houston (moved out from LA), I’ve been spending some time learning the market area by scouring the MLS, going to a few local real estate meetups, and simply driving around getting a feel for local neighborhoods.

I simply stated that his role has changed and he may or may not have the time to scour the market like before. 

I have been scouring the web for reviews, recommendations, and tips for couches for STR's but I seem to be struggling.

I try to stay in contact with wholesalers in my area, scour the MLS, Zillow, LoopNet, and work with a great, investor friendly agent.

If you scour your area you might be in for some surprises-yes even an hour away from San Francisco; get a map and draw a circle staying within your time tolerance; 60 mins, maybe a little more.
