Is the Milwaukee Public School system something to avoid? 

There are plenty of creative ways to avoid some of the worst case scenarios in real estate like foreclosure.

I have spent a lot of time comparing different homes and reviewing crime maps of the area, etc. but I feel I'm wasting a lot of time looking in D class areas which I'd like to avoid.

So far, I have been able to avoid any traps of investing out of state.    

Wondering if it is worth amending my last few years taxes to change all of those purchases of appliaces from depreciation to expenses to avoid future depreciation recapture upon sale.

I used to be a property manager.That said, if I had a rental property, I would avoid Section 8 tenants if I could.
